A 'Zoo'pendous Mother's Day...

As a treat this Mother's Day, the local zoo was giving free admission to all moms, so my family thought it would be a great way to celebrate the holiday. Although it was considerly warm and the zoo was crowded, the kids enjoyed spending an afternoon with their Papa & Nana Krim, Aunt Patty, Uncle Eric and cousin, Finn.
Andrew, Aaron and Austin ready to explore the zoo...
Alexis getting a lift from Papa Krim...
Eric and Finn ready to go...
Andrew and Austin...
Aaron and Austin reading the map to decide where to go next...
Uncle Eric hanging out with his nephews on tram to Wild Africa...
Andrew checking out old artifacts in Wild Africa...
Andrew and Austin checking out some elephant tusks...
Unfortunately, those are the only photos I was able to take because Aaron had a melt down when we got to the giraffes, so he and I spent the rest of the afternoon eating ice cream wandering around the zoo by ourselves. Thankfully Eric and Patty were able to take Andrew, Austin and Finn through the rest of Wild Africa, while my parents took Alexis to the petting zoo. And once everyone had their fill of visiting animals, we all met up with a couple of my brothers at a local restaurant for dinner. We spent the rest of the evening hanging out and enjoying each other's company while chowing down on some good food. It turned out to be a fabulous Mother's Day!
